My grandparents (mainly my grandfather) often make fun of me for my shoe obsession. I have a lot of pairs of shoes, but I do wear them regularly, so they are not going to waste. The point of this post is to share a new discovery! ShoeDazzle.com is a website that is essentially a shoe club. For a reasonable charge of $39/per month, you receive a fabulous pair of shoes.

The shoes are picked after you complete a short survey selecting which style, colors, and attitude you prefer. The $39/month membership fee covers a wonderful pair of shoes as well as shipping.

Everyone should at least check out the website. The FAQ section covers any potential questions you may have. After you join and you do not like the shoes they select for you, you can either ask for more shoe choices or pass on the month's choices!

With all of the press surrounding Kate Hudson and A-Rod's new romance. It is interesting that poor Kate does not seem to be able to make wise or lasting relationship decisions. He most notable relationship post divorce was with Lance Armstrong, the jerk who left his wife for Sheryl Crow and then left her to battle cancer alone. Lance is a real winner Kate. Now she is linked with Alex Roderiguez whose marriage was allegedly broken up by his affair with Madonna. Kate, please pick some men who actually care about women.

RSS: Communication Innovation or Another Way for IT to Make $$$$

I have been attempting to learn about RSS for work. It is an interesting development with the proliferation of the internet. Due to this, RSS has emerged. It is great and allows the easy spread of communication and information through the web.

In order to create it, you either have to be an IT genius or you have to pay for software or shareware to do the configuration for you. I am attempting to find another way to create, edit and publish RSS.

If anyone you have any ideas about this, please let me know.

Review of The Four Feathers

I just finished watching The Four Feathers. You may have gathered that I enjoy watching movies. This movie has not received the acclaim that it deserves. It stars the now deceased Heath Ledger and Kate Hudson. They both give stellar performances in character styles that are new to them both.

Besides the acting, the scenery and the plot are superb. Set in both England and Northern Africa, the film shows excellent shots of scenery and landmarks in both locations. The plot is an excellent and believable story. With what is happening in the United States in the reaction to the Iraqi War, this film is now time appropriate. I highly recommend watching this movie. If you do not like violence, this movie is not for you. Although the violence is restrained, the scenes that contain violence are graphic.

Review of Mama Mia

I saw Mama Mia last night with some family members and I thought I would give a brief overview and my opinion of the movie. I believe that the movie will do well solely based upon the facts that the play is such a success on Broadway and a lot of people want to see Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan sing. The movie starts out cute, with the main character telling her close friends that she invited her three possible fathers. That is where the cuteness ends. The singing is just acceptable and the acting below average. If you think that you are going to like seeing any of the leading men, you will be disappointed. Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth both have gained weight since the movies that made them immortal.

None of the actors involved are truly talented singers. This said, the combination of all of the voices is able to pull of what may prove to be a fairly successful soundtrack; the movie Once made it right?

If you want to see this movie, I would wait until it comes to a discount theatre or dvd or at least see it as a matinee.

Waste of Funds

Anyone who has visited the University of Memphis main campus has seen the destruction that is the result of the new University Center. In this post I shall not go into the fact that the university does not even need a new UC.

The work has been going on for what seems like forever. It has at least been destroying the campus for a year as it was going on before I left for Ireland. The point is that there are never more than two workers at one time. The new UC could have been built by now if it was not being construceted by a government contstruction agency. I am just raging that the money that could go towards scholarships or hiring of new, actually qualified staff is going to the big mud pit that will someday be the new UC.

Thankful for Freedom

Today I realized how very thankful I am for all of the freedoms we have in the United States. Reading about the poor women in Sudan and Saudi Arabia, one imprisoned after naming a class teddy bear Mohammed and the other receiving 6 months jail time and 200 lashes for being raped. Two decision that I am not sure of all the surrounding facts concerning these women but it is obvious that if these actions had occurred in the United States nothing would have happened to the first woman and the second woman could have filed a police report and received support and therapy to help here deal with her ordeal.

Even living in the western country of Northern Ireland in the UK. Although all people here have religious freedom, as long as that religion is Catholic. And if you are not, better not talk too loud about your relgious beliefs. Although the troubles are over, the relgious fanatasism is not.

I am thankful that in the United States we have freedom of religion, freedom to a jury of our peers, free to be innocent until chosen guilty. I am thankful for these freedoms and also the freedom to actually enjoy these freedoms without worring that they will not agree with other people's perception of freedom.

Must be crazy

I must be a little crazy. I know everyone already knew this except me. I was showing the pictures of my family to my flatmates and I was wondering why have I been camped out in my room watching movies all the time? I should be out enjoying life, not living it vicariously through others.

Also, I must be homesick because last night I watched Abbott and Costello's rendition of Jack and the Beanstalk. I HATE THAT MOVIE. "I fear nothing when I am in the right." Craziness.

I am really excited that Laura Fowler is coming to visit. It will be fun to have another American to help take some of the slagging away from me. Seriously, it will be fun to have someone from home here to experience all of the joy that Ireland has to offer. This of course mainly is the COOL WEATHER :)

Relying upon God

My internship turned out to be fruitless or I call it it, as waste of time. I have learned nothing to further my education or possible skills applicable in the work force. I called Laura when I heard that James and Mina were engaged. I was expecting sympathy. I should have know better, after all it was Laura. Anyway as soon as I told her my problems she said that she had nothing that summer and that it did not matter. She then said that it did not matter what you did because God has a plan. It does not matter what you do for your cv because God has a plan and if you follow him, his plan can be completed in you. At first I was mad because I was ashamed that I had not thought of that. Anyway, praise the Lord for unsympathetic sisters who bring our focus back to God. Thanks Lo.

Sty in My Eye

So in breaking news, the sty that I had in my eye on Monday is still there. Let this be a lesson to all of those of us who fall asleep with mascara still on our eyelashes. In even better news, I am going on a date tonight and I will not be wearing glasses. Call me vain, but I know that I look loads better in contacts (or sans the glasses).

Also, happy days, I am able to work from home today. I went to Belfast yesterday to collect research and today I am compiling it. I like working from home because that means that I can stay in casual clothes all day.

The Beginning

Today I walked in the rain to work, sans umbrella. That was quite an amazing time. I got to work to find that basically everyone had moved to the new location. There were no computers for me use to find the appropriate research. I got to walk home. I treated myself to a nap at home. It was lovely.

I got a package from Brandi today. It was great. I love receiving mail, even more so now that I am in a foreign country. I got the new Elevate t-shirt which I LOVE. Thanks Brandi and Nathan for the nice notes. Nathan, I am going to Scotland in September, no worries.

Not much going on in Ireland, Aaron left to go to the US this morning at 12:30 am. I am really sad. I am always sad when my friends leave, the best example would be when Scott went to Mexico, ask my family about that incident.

The weather is amazing in Ireland. It rains everyday so the weather is nice and cool--my favorite. I am greatly looking forward to everyday just for the weather, how sad. For those who know me, apparently the weather has a huge impact on my psyche because people in Ireland think that I am happy-go lucky. Haha.
